the month in review

hello abandoned non-existent blog audience. I am back. I've missed you, too.

Let's see... Spent a couple of weeks in NYC feeling simultaneously fabulous and weary. I saw some great things which I noted here as I saw them, but in the end, I'm too whimsical at this point in my life for all that concrete and energy. I guess the steel is starting to seep into my blood.

When I was a Freshman in college my directing professor said this: "If you can do anything else in the world, do it." I thought it was bohemian and inspiring. Now I see.

Finding a sustainable job in the arts without compromising your dreams is like trying to stay celibate after the invention of birth control: for most people, it just ain't gonna happen. Well, celibacy was never my thing... but man, this is tough going.

Resumes and networking and smiling and shaking the hands of people you are never going to see again because they have no intention of employing you...blah blah blah.
